2017 WGBH BOSTON A-LIST BEST WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER FINALIST

For the second year in a row I am excited, honored and humbled to receive this honor. It’s a much needed morale boost for me right at the tale end of wedding season when things are winding down. Thank you to all that voted and all those who continue to tell others about my work. This is a huge honor because it took many votes from my supporters, clients and peers.

Felicia & Vladimir Le Ciel Wedding

Felicia and Vladimir were married on August 27th, with a ceremony and reception at Le Ciel in Santorini, Greece.

An Amazing Santorini Destination Wedding

The gorgeous and magical island of Santorini was the perfect location for these two to tie the knot. It’s always exciting to be part of a destination wedding because of the feeling of adventure and romance, and for Felicia and Vladimir, those two words seemed to sum up their entire personalities.

My videographer, Kyle, and I were never at a loss for something amazing to document. I did all the photography, starting with Felicia and her bridesmaids and then Vladimir, and the whole day went by in a whirlwind of joy.

The ceremony itself was stunning and emotional and provided my favorite image of the day. At the end of the ceremony, after they’d been pronounced husband and wife, Felicia and Vladimir walked down the aisle together with huge smiles on their faces and rose petals in the air. That photograph evokes such a strong, joyful feeling even looking at it now that I can’t help but get swept up in their happiness all over again.

I have to say, though, that my favorite moment was when we went to the small church on top of a mountain just minutes away from the wedding venue. It was the first time the two of them had some alone time to chat and decompress after officially being married, and I could see them drinking in each other’s presence as well as the emotion of that moment.

I’d also be remiss if I didn’t thank “Behind the Design” for their event planning. For a destination wedding like this, it’s always crucial for the planning and design to go off well, and she was an absolute lifesaver for this wedding.

Felicia & Vladimir, you two are meant for each other! Thank you for letting me join you on your amazing journey to Greece!

Lidia & Sean Blissful Meadows Wedding

Lidia and Sean were married on August 29th, with a ceremony and reception at Blissful Meadows in Uxbridge, Massachusetts.

I started out the day with Lidia, who had the most amazing smile on her face that stayed through the whole day, while my second shooter, Jenee Cook, was with Sean capturing his “getting ready” ahead of the first look.

Lidia had specifically picked out her favorite sneakers—some Converse Chuck Taylors—to wear as a joke specifically because Sean can’t stand Chuck Taylors. She loved being able to play a joke on Sean before the wedding had even started, and his reaction was nothing short of priceless.

That playful mood from the first look never left the two of them, either. They were obviously caught up in each other and in enjoying each other’s presence, as you can tell from the picture of Sean lifting Lidia up into the air during the portrait session. It just felt so genuine—completely un-staged. Their spontaneity and constant ability to surprise me with their natural laughter made photographing these two a breeze.

That fun was present throughout the whole day, from the mason jars Lidia and Sean drank out of to the air guitar that Sean played during the party. Sean can seriously rock that air guitar. It really does make my job as a wedding photographer so easy when I have people like this, who are so willing to put themselves out there and be funny and goofy. I loved every second of time I spent with them.

Lidia & Sean, I left your wedding feeling like I had just left my own family’s event. That’s all I could ever want on any given day. Thank you for being awesome people and for letting me be your photographer at the start of this new chapter in your lives.

The Cape, the beach, a sunny day and a beautiful couple, what more could a photographer ask for?! Amy and Ryan’s love for one another was obvious and infectious. The O’Kane and Shogren families welcomed me with open arms ensuring I felt more like a guest than a photographer. I’d love to take part in another one of this family’s events.
